Each year, the Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk, with our fellow clubs across the country, celebrates National Maritime Day.   Established by Congress in 1933, National Maritime Day honors the work and contributions of past Merchant Seamen who endured the perils of the sea during times of war and peace, and celebrates and recognizes those who proudly carry on that tradition today.

This year’s commemorative event is being presented by 

The Propeller Club of Norfolk, Virginia Maritime Association, and Hampton Roads Shipping Association.

It will be held from 4:30 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22 at the Peter G. Decker Jr. Half Moone Center at Nauticus. Cocktail Hour and vessel tours will take place aboard the USNS MEDGAR EVERS from 4:30-6:00 PM. A formal sit-down dinner will take place after the wreath laying ceremony and champagne toast. Dinner will be from 6:00-8:00 at Nauticus Half Moone Celebration Center.
